Year End Summary

When I came to CSTC I expected that I would learn more about computers. I thought that I would become more advanced in computers and technology from the information learned in this program. My favorite activity would of had to been taking apart a computer. This activity was one of the best activities we did at CSTC. This activity allowed me to see the features that were inside of a computer and it showed me how the features worked with one another. I think the activity that the program should get rid of is all the reading. The reading does not make the program easy to do because its too much to comprehend at one time. The activity that I think CSTC should improve in is the hands on part in the program.

The networking learned in the program has helped me. It has helped me to be able to think about how I should carry myself when I present information, and that advice should help me go a long way. The information that I learned in this program has helped me at school because I have a better idea of what is probably not working on the computer if it is not working correctly. Also I have a better voice when I'm talking to a crowd because of the networking information.

The part that I enjoyed most about the program is the development of more friends. At this program you get a variety of different personalities and you get to befriend most of them. It is a good experience and in the end you will be glad you went through it. The only thing that I did not like a lot about this program is again all the reading we had to do. I think that the program would of been better if there were more ways to learn the information rather than just reading it. I just want to add that CSTC is a great program to help teens out in the Columbus and it is a great thing that they are doing.

Job Readiness

My name is Albane' Marshall and I attend Arts Impact Middle School. I am an eighth grader and I am 14 years old. I maintain a 3.8-4.0 G.P.A. I am a really nice person if you get to know me and I usually make a good first impression. I like talking to people and helping people out. I want to become a pediatrician when I am older and I want to succeed in life by being responsible and being a good citizen.

Before I started CSTC Columbus I knew about an average amount on computers. I knew how to work Microsoft Office software and delete software from the computer. I knew how to download software and I knew how to work a keyboard. Software is programs that are on a computer and hardware is types of futures on the outside of a computer. So I knew enough about computers to help me work with one.

Now that I have had the advantage of going through this program I have learned a lot. I learned even little things that I never noticed before. I learned that every website must have http:// at the beginning and I didn't even pay attention to that fact about computers. I've learned that you are using RAM when you are saving documents on the computer. I also learned that a computer has to have a TCP/IP which is Transmission Control Protocol or Internet Protocol to network with other computers. That is how people email each other and chat on the computer. Now I am more enhanced about computers and I will probably use this information to help others. My short term goal is to do a good job at my intern job and have the people I work with proud of me.

My main goals are to finish school, go to college, and graduate to become a pediatrician. My goal is to have successful career and be proud of myself. I hope that my friends and family will be proud of me too. My goal will be to take care of my patients to the best of my ability. If I ever have a family my goal will be to help them achieve their goals and let them be proud of themselves when they look back at their life.

Computers were just a place for me to do homework and to look at my Myspace but now I have more to do on them. If my computer is broke down or acting funny I probably will have an idea of what to do for it. CSTC has helped me learn a lot about computers. I hope that this program will help me reach my goals in life. I never thought that computer learning would help me have all these advantages to my future but it has and I hope it will continue to help me.

My blog about my internship

I expect that my internship this summer will be fun and a good learning experience. I hope that I can express my knowledge at my job and learn new things there. I will be looking forward to working with new people and learning about their jobs and how their childhood experiences made them want to be who they are today. I do still hope to work in the medical internships because that's what field I want to work in when I get older. I will be glad to get any job though because any job will be a good experience for me.

3 JOBS I WANT TO HAVE THIS SUMMER

One job that I want this summer is nursing or something to do with doctoring. I want a job like that because my goal in life is to become a pediatrician. A place to find this job would be a hospital located in this area like Children's or Grant . Being able to care for one's health and learning about medicines and preparations to help ones would help me at this job.

Even though my last paragraph would be my number one job to have another job would be a therapist. A physical therapist at that. I think that you could find a physical therapist job at a doctors office like The Pediatrics Association. Maybe a physical therapist job would be needed there for ones who may injurer themselves during the summer. The ability to help someone work up strength would be a task that i need to know because that would really help them get better.

The last job that I would consider having this summer is something working immediately with technology like a job with apple. You could look for a job like this at an apple store. I would probably have to know a lot about computers and technology to be good at this job. I don't know what they would have me doing but it would probably have to deal with some technology.

Power Point Presentation

Today in City Student Tech Corp we had a person named Mike present to us information on the new Microsoft Power Point. He taught us the basics on it and told us that it was just a little more updated than the Microsoft 2003 edition. He also told us that it is easy to adjust to if you never used it before or if you are just updating. I think that Mikes Power point Presentation was informative to us today in Tech Corps. He was very playful with his presentation so it was not boring, and I was able to pay attention. I learned how to use sound and movies on a power point during his presentation. I thought that what he instructed to us was helpful for the basic ideas of a power point. I think that it is interesting how outspoken he was able to be while presenting to a new crowd. I think that his presentation will help me be able to loosen up amongst new crowds to get my point across while pursuing my career. I think that he did a pretty good job on the basics of a power point and I didn't think he need to emphasize on anything based on what he did show us.

About Albane'

My name is Albane' Marshall and I am fourteen years old. I live with my mom, dad, sister, aunt, dog, and brother for now in Columbus Ohio. I am a well educated girl and I always try to do my best in everything that needs an amount of effort. I enjoy associating with friends, but I can be shy around new people. I loosen up quickly if the people I associate with are trying to get to know me like I am trying to get to know them. I like being around people that aren't stuck up and judge people in front of their faces because of impressions that they may have had on somebody. I believe in second chances and I believe that if you want something then you have to strive for it. I like to be active and play with friends. I like competing with teams in games if there is team work involved. My favorite color is red and I like to learn how to cook. Learning new things is fun and I will learn new things even if I'm not interested in it right off the bat. I like to listen to different types of music like R&B, Jazz, Pop,and Rock. I am pretty laid back but if something needs to be done by me then it will be done. I try to keep an A in all my classes so I am always on honor roll. I'm interested in becoming a pediatrician because I want to work with children. I like Golden Retriever dogs and my favorite food is pasta. My favorite movie is Deliver us from Eva. My favorite shows are Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Degrassi, About a girl, and there are many more.

My expectations in this program is to succeed and be happy in my summer job. I expect to accomplish all the things in this class. I expect to learn how to type faster in this program. I expect to learn how to associate computer technology with school work, so I can have an advantage with projects and assignments. I also expect to learn how to network better.
I have learned how to hyperlink and save documents on Google. I like how there is one on one teaching and clear understanding with step by step directions in this program. I really don't dislike many things that are featured in the program. I think this program will help my peers and I with the future also. I hope that we will all succeed and accomplish good values in our lives from Student TechCorps.
